Candler County Schools Calendar 2026–2027

Candler County Schools uses the City of Metter’s name for every ordinary K–12 campus: Metter Elementary, Metter Middle and Metter High. The district’s 2,021 K–12 students are enrolled in a county school system, however, not a separate Metter city district. The shared place name reflects where the schools are located, not a second layer of school governance.

Metter College & Career Academy appears beside Metter High in the district directory and offers pathways ranging from agricultural mechanics and biotechnology to culinary arts, information technology, welding and JROTC. It is a distinct career-focused school setting, but it does not create another geographic high-school zone. Students reach its programs through secondary planning and program selection, with no separate residential boundary attached to the academy.

Candler’s school list forms a compact, closely integrated system despite the range of names in the directory. One elementary and one middle school feed the county’s secondary institutions in Metter; the career academy expands how students complete high school while the county retains one comprehensive high-school attendance structure. The central distinction is between an ordinary feeder assignment and a career-program route, not between “Candler” and “Metter” school systems.
