Putnam County Schools Calendar 2026–2027

Putnam County Schools moves 2,778 K–12 students through four countywide campuses—Primary, Elementary, Middle and High—so the attendance map itself is simple. Agriculture carried across all grade levels provides the system’s most distinctive through-line.

The district describes agriculture education from kindergarten through twelfth grade. Its hydrofarms grow lettuce and herbs used in student meals, while a district beef-cattle project has raised steers on school grounds and returned the processed beef to cafeterias. Those activities connect plant science, animal care, food systems and nutrition to the same institutions that serve daily meals; they are not confined to a high-school FFA elective.

This gives the four-campus ladder a shared instructional identity without adding a fifth school. A child still changes buildings after second, fifth and eighth grade, and “Charter School System” remains a governance designation within this districtwide sequence. Putnam’s agriculture work crosses the feeder line: younger students encounter it before the career-pathway years, and district-produced food can move from instructional projects into the lunch program.
