Polk County Schools Calendar 2026–2027

Polk County Schools maintains two ordinary secondary communities for 7,412 K–12 students. Cedartown-area elementary schools feed Cedartown Middle and Cedartown High, while Rockmart-area schools feed Rockmart Middle and Rockmart High. Unlike a county that converges at one middle school, Polk preserves the Cedartown–Rockmart division through graduation.

Polk College and Career Academy operates across those two clusters. It provides career pathways, dual-enrollment opportunities and program access for students from both Cedartown and Rockmart while preserving those two address-assigned high schools. The academy connects the two sides academically without merging their ordinary feeder maps.

Harpst Academy belongs to another category entirely. It serves students connected with the Murphy-Harpst residential treatment setting and appears in the district’s secondary records; access comes through that specialized placement, while Cedartown and Rockmart remain the ordinary neighborhood high schools. Polk’s directory contains two geographic clusters, one cross-cluster career academy and one highly specialized residential program. The three structures should never be counted as equivalent high-school routes.
