Liberty County Schools Calendar 2027–2028

Liberty County Schools recorded 10,464 K–12 students in its own local campuses, including the two comprehensive high schools Bradwell Institute and Liberty County High. Fort Stewart creates a second public-school governance system inside the same county. Eligible children living on the installation attend Department of Defense schools through sixth grade; they enter Liberty County’s neighborhood system afterward.

Fort Stewart has no DoDEA middle or high school extending through graduation. After sixth grade, on-base students enter the local community system for grades seven through twelve. The transition combines a grade-level move with a transfer from a federal school system to Liberty County Schools. Off-base children can spend their entire K–12 experience under the county board, while an on-base child changes governing authorities midway through the usual middle-school span.

That distinction prevents the base schools from being counted as additional Liberty County elementary campuses. It also explains why local secondary enrollment includes military-connected students who were absent from the county’s K–6 records. Bradwell and Liberty County High belong to the county’s address-based network; the DoDEA schools form an earlier, installation-specific route that joins it after grade six.
