Cherokee County School District Calendar 2027–2028

Cherokee County School District enrolled 41,455 K–12 students across six address-based high-school communities: Cherokee, Creekview, Etowah, River Ridge, Sequoyah and Woodstock. Each is supported by assigned elementary and middle schools, so the district’s current boundary map determines the ordinary route into one of the six high schools.

The school directory also contains i-Grad Virtual Academy, a fully virtual grades 9–12 school whose students complete coursework from home. i-Grad is reached through an application and placement process; it is not a seventh geographic high-school zone. That distinction matters because a student can reside in the Cherokee, Creekview or another cluster while seeking a different instructional setting through the virtual academy.

Cherokee’s city names do not mark independent municipal school districts. Canton, Woodstock, Holly Springs and other communities are served inside the county system, even though several schools carry those place names. The central family question is which county cluster contains the residence. Only after that assignment is known does it make sense to compare i-Grad or another specialized option with the neighborhood route.
