Camden County Schools Calendar 2026–2027

Camden County Schools serves a heavily military-connected coastal community that includes Kingsland, St. Marys, Woodbine and Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay. Its 9,515 K–12 students attend schools operated by Camden County, including children connected to Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay; the base has no separate Department of Defense school system. Two middle schools—Camden Middle and St. Marys Middle—eventually feed one countywide Camden County High School.

Kings Bay affects the district in ways that go beyond enrollment numbers. Camden provides Military and Family Life Counseling support throughout the school system, and the district allows active-duty families to establish enrollment residency with military orders under its published procedures. Crooked River Elementary sits close to the base and its housing areas, making military mobility a routine feature of school operations.

The military connection should not be confused with the Fort Moore arrangement elsewhere in Georgia, where DoDEA operates on-post schools. In Camden, the county district remains the regular public-school provider for local military families. The practical questions are the current county attendance zone and the service member’s residency documentation, not whether a base school replaces the county feeder pattern.
