Bryan County Schools Calendar 2026–2027

Bryan County Schools is not one continuous feeder system spread evenly across the county. Its 10,264 K–12 students are divided between the North Bryan communities around Pembroke and the much larger South Bryan network centered on Richmond Hill. Distance, growth and separate local school histories have produced two secondary structures under one district administration.

In North Bryan, Bryan County Middle High is presented as a combined grades six-through-twelve school organization, but the middle- and high-school operations remain associated with separate buildings and addresses. The combined name reflects shared administration and a unified secondary identity; it should not be read as proof that every student in grades six through twelve occupies one undivided campus. A replacement Bryan County High School is planned for 2029; the current assignment remains in place until that future facilities change takes effect.

South Bryan has a more segmented and rapidly expanding network. Richmond Hill High opened its new campus in August 2025, while Richmond Hill Middle and several elementary schools serve a student population far larger than the North Bryan side. The elementary pattern itself is not uniform: some Richmond Hill campuses cover full elementary grades, while others divide children into primary, intermediate or upper-elementary bands.

Bryan has to be read geographically before it is read by school name. “Bryan County” in a campus title usually points to the northern sequence, while “Richmond Hill” points to the southern one. A 2029 construction announcement, a combined administrative name and an operating campus are three different kinds of information; collapsing them would misstate the system families use now.
