Bulloch County Schools Calendar 2026–2027

Bulloch County Schools has three comprehensive secondary communities, but they are not built in the same way. Statesboro and Southeast Bulloch each use a conventional middle-school-to-high-school progression. Portal operates a combined middle/high school serving grades six through twelve on one secondary campus. Its 10,537 K–12 students do not all make the same type of transition after elementary school.

Portal’s configuration is particularly easy to flatten in a statewide directory. It is one named school spanning both middle and high grades, not a missing middle school and not two separate campuses that happen to share a title. Students in the Statesboro and Southeast Bulloch areas, by contrast, change buildings between grades eight and nine.

Bulloch also describes fifteen schools plus several learning programs. Those programs expand alternative, virtual or specialized options without creating additional address-based high-school communities. The practical distinction is between the three ordinary secondary routes and the supplemental programs layered across them. A Portal family needs to understand the combined 6–12 setting; a Statesboro or Southeast Bulloch family needs the relevant middle and high feeder; a program participant may then add another site or schedule without changing the underlying home cluster.
