Effingham County Schools Calendar 2026–2027

Effingham County Schools organizes 13,908 K–12 students primarily around the Effingham County High and South Effingham High communities. Their elementary and middle feeders serve a fast-growing Savannah-area county in which the Rincon, Guyton, Springfield and southern corridors do not all move through the same secondary route.

The elementary map changed as the 2026–27 year began. Creekside Elementary, the district’s ninth elementary school, opened in August 2026 after a public redistricting process. Because the first day of school was August 5, Creekside was already an operating campus by the August 7 status date, not a future construction project. Older lists that show only eight elementary schools no longer describe the active network.

This opening matters beyond the addition of one name. New boundaries redistributed younger students among Creekside and existing schools while the two main high-school communities remained the larger organizing framework. Effingham has to be read with a current elementary map and an established secondary cluster map at the same time. A pre-redistricting address lookup can point to a real school that is no longer the assigned one.
