Baker County School System Calendar 2026–2027

Baker County School System enrolled only 268 K–12 students, making it one of the smallest districts in this group. It nevertheless maintains separate elementary, middle and high-school identities in Newton within this very small system. The district directory also includes separate prekindergarten programs and Baker County Learning Academy, which should not be mistaken for additional neighborhood schools.

At this scale, a long feeder analysis would add little. The defining fact is how many roles are concentrated inside one small county system. Teachers and facilities serve a student body smaller than many individual elementary schools elsewhere in Georgia, while the district still has to provide a complete progression through graduation. Baker opened a newly built Agricultural Education Center for the 2025–26 school year, giving its agriculture program a dedicated facility without creating another comprehensive high school.

The school count needs interpretation. Elementary, middle and high are the ordinary K–12 progression; the pre-K names refer to early-childhood services; the Learning Academy is a specialized setting; and the agriculture center is a program facility with no separate attendance zone. Baker’s distinctiveness comes from the way a very small enrollment is organized into a full public-school system.
