Peach County Schools Calendar 2026–2027

Peach County Schools preserves separate Byron and Fort Valley secondary communities through eighth grade. The district’s 3,881 K–12 students begin at Byron Elementary, Hunt Elementary or Kay Road Elementary, and residential assignment later divides them between Byron Middle and Fort Valley Middle. Both routes finally converge at Peach County High.

The two middle schools are ordinary geographic feeders, not competing choice academies. Their existence allows the county’s two main communities to retain separate school identities beyond the elementary years even though neither has its own comprehensive high school. The address matters longer than it would in a district where all fifth-graders immediately enter one county middle school.

Peach County Achievement Academy serves grades 6–12 in a nontraditional setting and should not be mapped as a third middle-to-high route. Its students enter because of program or placement needs, while Byron Middle and Fort Valley Middle represent the ordinary residential paths. Peach’s school system is best understood as two town-centered ladders that merge for high school, with the Achievement Academy operating alongside—not between—them.
