Murray County Schools Calendar 2026–2027

Murray County Schools currently uses six K–5 elementary schools, two grades 6–8 middle schools and two comprehensive high schools for 6,330 K–12 students. That description differs from older state snapshots, which still show sixth grade at the elementary schools and the middle schools serving only grades seven and eight. Current district curriculum and school materials place sixth-graders at Bagley or Gladden Middle.

The change matters because a family relying on 2024–25 data would send a sixth-grader to the wrong level. It also alters the length of the elementary experience across Chatsworth, Coker, Eton, Northwest, Spring Place and Woodlawn: those community schools now end after fifth grade before students divide between the two middle-and-high feeder routes.

Pleasant Valley Innovative School is a separate nontraditional grades 6–12 setting, not a third geographic cluster beside Murray County High and North Murray High. Murray must be read in current time: K–5 community elementaries, 6–8 middle schools, two ordinary high-school zones, and one innovative placement option. The former K–6/7–8 pattern is historical, even though it remains visible in official enrollment records.
