Jenkins County Schools Calendar 2026–2027

Jenkins County Schools appears larger in state enrollment data than its physical Millen school network alone would suggest. The 2024–25 K–12 fall FTE total was 1,708, but 604 of those students were enrolled in Virtual Preparatory Academy of Georgia at Jenkins. The three local campuses—Jenkins County Elementary, Middle and High—accounted for about 1,100 students.

Virtual Preparatory Academy is a tuition-free statewide online school associated with the Jenkins district; its enrollment is not confined to children living near Millen. It belongs in the district’s official total without functioning as a fourth neighborhood campus. A statewide virtual student and a Jenkins County resident attending the local high school can appear under the same district heading while using entirely different instructional and geographic systems.

For local families, the ordinary route remains K–5 elementary, 6–8 middle and 9–12 high. The virtual academy answers a separate full-time online enrollment question. Treating all 1,708 students as the population moving through three Millen buildings would exaggerate the local system’s scale, while omitting the academy would ignore a major part of the district’s administrative footprint.
