Henry County Schools Calendar 2026–2027

Henry County Schools counted 42,627 K–12 students across ten geographic high-school communities: Dutchtown, Eagle’s Landing, Hampton, Locust Grove, Luella, McDonough, Ola, Stockbridge, Union Grove and Woodland. Most elementary areas use a continuous PK–5 school, but Stockbridge contains a conspicuous exception. Stockbridge Elementary ends after third grade, and Smith-Barnes Elementary receives grades four and five before students enter Stockbridge Middle.

The secondary directory mixes several mechanisms that should not be read as additional clusters. Impact Academy operates full-time online middle- and high-school enrollment. Henry County Online Academy supplies supplemental or part-time virtual courses while students retain their home-school enrollment. The Academy for Advanced Studies is a career and advanced-course destination, while EXCEL Academy serves a different nontraditional population. The names overlap in tone, but their effect on a student’s enrollment is not the same.

A new Henry County STEM High School is also visible in current district planning, but it is not part of the operating 2026–27 network. The school is scheduled to open in Stockbridge in August 2027 with ninth- and tenth-grade cohorts selected through academic criteria and a lottery. It is planned as a full-time designated high school, unlike a course-only academy.

For a current family, the address-based cluster still comes first. Stockbridge residents may also need to recognize the PK–3/4–5 elementary split; specialized options then require a separate decision about full-time enrollment, supplemental coursework or future eligibility.
