Forsyth County Schools Calendar 2027–2028

Forsyth County Schools enrolled 54,501 K–12 students in one of Georgia’s largest suburban systems. Most students follow an address-based elementary, middle and comprehensive high-school cluster, with current zoning especially important in a county that has repeatedly added campuses as development spread north and west of Cumming.

Alliance Academy for Innovation operates outside that ordinary map. It is a grades 9–12 career-focused school with pathways in fields such as health care, engineering and information technology. Students request admission through a separate process that includes eligibility review and, when applications exceed available seats, a lottery. Alliance has no conventional residential attendance zone comparable to Denmark, East Forsyth, Forsyth Central, Lambert, North Forsyth, South Forsyth or West Forsyth.

That contrast explains the district’s geography and school assignment directly. A home address establishes one of the regular high-school communities. Alliance admission establishes a different full-time high-school placement. The two paths can appear side by side in the district directory, but one is guaranteed through zoning and the other depends on an application result. In a fast-growing district, neither an old feeder chart nor the presence of a themed high school should be used as a substitute for those separate decisions.
