Decatur County Schools Calendar 2026–2027

Decatur County Schools has two primary attendance areas but one shared upper-elementary campus. Children begin at Jones-Wheat Primary or West Bainbridge Primary for the earliest grades, meet at Hutto Elementary for grades three through five, and then continue together to Bainbridge Middle and Bainbridge High. The district’s 3,949 K–12 students converge at Hutto before middle school, creating one shared route from grade three onward.

New Beginnings Learning Center serves grades six through twelve outside that ordinary sequence. It uses alternative scheduling, computer-supported coursework and direct instruction with the goal of helping students make academic progress and, when appropriate, return to their home school. Its middle- and high-school students do not necessarily follow the same daily structure even though they share the program name.

The word “Bainbridge” appears throughout the district, yet every listed campus belongs to the countywide Decatur County Schools system. The practical map has two early-grade routes, one common upper-elementary and secondary ladder, and a separate alternative placement. Counting New Beginnings as a second comprehensive high school or treating Hutto as another K–5 neighborhood option would misstate both parts of the system.
