Columbia County Schools Calendar 2026–2027

Columbia County Schools serves 28,241 K–12 students through five high-school communities—Evans, Greenbrier, Grovetown, Harlem and Lakeside. Elementary-to-middle assignments are not always one-to-one; several neighborhoods use split feeders, so the name of the nearest elementary school does not by itself establish the eventual high school. The district’s current zoning maps remain necessary at each school level.

Growth has made those maps time-sensitive. Boundary changes for 2025–26 affected areas including Euchee Creek, North Columbia and North Harlem, and the district continues to manage capacity across the fast-developing Evans and Grovetown corridors. A feeder chart saved before a rezoning can remain plausible while directing a family to the wrong campus.

Columbia also serves a substantial military-connected population associated with Fort Gordon and the Augusta area. Its military-support work operates inside the ordinary county schools, and Columbia has no separate on-post K–12 system. The district’s defining combination is five geographic high-school clusters, shifting suburban boundaries and a large number of mobile military families. Assignment comes from the current county zone; military services support students within that placement.
