About Bremen City Schools
Bremen City Schools is an independent municipal district, not a branch of the surrounding county systems. Its 2,258 K–12 students follow one citywide progression through Jones Elementary, Bremen 4th & 5th Grade Academy, Bremen Middle and Bremen High. Residency in the city school district establishes the ordinary right to that sequence; a Bremen postal address alone may extend beyond the municipal boundary.
The word “Academy” can be misleading in this otherwise straightforward system. Bremen 4th & 5th Grade Academy is the regular upper-elementary campus for the citywide feeder path, not a selective school that competes with a conventional fourth- and fifth-grade assignment. Children move there because of grade promotion, then continue together to Bremen Middle and Bremen High.
Bremen’s location makes boundary verification important. The city lies primarily in Haralson County and extends into Carroll County, while both counties operate their own school systems. A family can live near Bremen schools or use a Bremen mailing address without necessarily belonging to Bremen City Schools. Once municipal residency is confirmed, however, the district follows one citywide age-banded ladder.
