About Towns County Schools
Towns County Schools enrolled 911 K–12 students in a small mountain system serving the Hiawassee and Young Harris area. Towns County Elementary covers prekindergarten through fifth grade. Towns County Middle and Towns County High share the same 1400 Highway 76 campus address. Grades six, seven and eight belong to Towns County Middle; students then enter Towns County High for grades nine through twelve.
The shared address can make the secondary system look like one combined 6–12 school in a directory. Local organization preserves two school identities, administrations and grade spans inside the same campus. A student changes schools after fifth and eighth grade, with both secondary transitions occurring within one complex.
The district also lists Pre-K and Head Start services separately from the K–12 schools. Its map contains a three-stage K–12 ladder, an early-childhood layer and two co-located secondary schools. Towns County Middle and Towns County High remain distinct instructional organizations even though students reach both through the same campus entrance.
