Lowndes County Schools Calendar 2026–2027

Lowndes County Schools served 10,239 K–12 students through seven elementary schools and three middle schools, but every ordinary county route ultimately meets at Lowndes High. Hahira, Lowndes and Pine Grove middle schools preserve different community paths through eighth grade without producing three separate comprehensive high schools.

The Valdosta address printed on many county schools is not evidence that they belong to Valdosta City Schools. The independent city district occupies its own jurisdiction inside the same metropolitan area, while Lowndes County Schools covers surrounding communities such as Hahira, Lake Park and Clyattville as well as county areas carrying Valdosta mail. District residency must be settled before a high-school name or mailing city is used to infer assignment.

Moody Air Force Base adds military demand but no separate on-base K–12 system. Military families use local districts according to where they live, most commonly Lowndes County or Valdosta City. Lowndes differs from counties where DoDEA operates base schools: the military connection does not interrupt the county feeder line. Once an address is confirmed inside the county system, the relevant elementary and middle route converges at the same Lowndes High campus.
