Emanuel County School District Calendar 2026–2027

Emanuel County School District contains two genuinely different K–12 pathways. In the Swainsboro area, children move from Swainsboro Primary to Swainsboro Elementary, Swainsboro Middle and Swainsboro High. In the Twin City community, students remain at Twin City Elementary through fifth grade and then enter Emanuel County Institute, a combined grades 6–12 school.

The difference continues well beyond the elementary years. A Twin City sixth-grader is already part of the same institutional school that will carry the student through graduation. A Swainsboro sixth-grader enters a stand-alone middle school and later changes again to a separate high school. ECI is not a countywide career academy or an alternative campus; it is the ordinary comprehensive secondary school for its community.

Among Emanuel’s 3,731 K–12 students, the address determines both the building a child attends and the number of formal school transitions. Crossroads Transition Academy and the district’s career programs add specialized settings without replacing either regular route. Emanuel cannot be summarized as one primary, one middle and one high system: it is a Swainsboro age-banded ladder operating beside a Twin City K–5-to-6–12 ladder.
