Banks County Schools Calendar 2026–2027

Banks County Schools concentrates its 2,785 K–12 students in one countywide sequence near Homer: Banks County Primary, Banks County Elementary, Banks County Middle and Banks County High. “Primary” and “Elementary” do not identify two competing local zones. They are consecutive grade bands, so every ordinary student changes buildings at the same points in the progression.

What gives the four-school system a stronger local identity is the continuity of agricultural education. Banks County describes agriculture and FFA opportunities across grade levels, extending the subject well beyond a single high-school elective department. Its FFA work is connected to a broader K–12 thread, with younger students encountering agricultural learning before the formal high-school pathways and leadership competitions.

That program continuity does not complicate school assignment. The county still has a single middle campus and a single comprehensive high school, and the agriculture sequence operates inside that shared ladder. Banks is a useful example of a district whose distinguishing feature is a subject area unusually visible across an otherwise compact four-campus system.
