Coweta County School System Calendar 2026–2027

Coweta County School System organizes 22,378 K–12 students around three comprehensive high-school communities: East Coweta, Newnan and Northgate. Each has assigned elementary and middle feeders, and the district’s rapid suburban development makes the current address map the reliable source for placement.

Central Educational Center does not form a fourth high-school zone. It combines career pathways, work-based learning and college coursework through a partnership with West Georgia Technical College. The campus also includes an eighth-grade College and Career Academy route, while older students may travel from their assigned high schools for specialized courses. Participation is voluntary and program-based; the student’s home high school remains East Coweta, Newnan or Northgate unless another approved placement applies.

Coweta’s secondary network has two overlapping geographies. The three clusters determine ordinary school assignment and the community in which a student is enrolled. Central Educational Center determines where selected career and college work may take place. Reading the academy as an extra comprehensive high school would erase the very feature that makes it useful: students from different county clusters share a specialized destination without creating a new residential zone.
